Every year the Parents Council look after ordering these. The jacket has each child’s initials embroidered specially on them to differentiate them from others.
The Physical Education (PE) uniform consists of a Navy tracksuit and a white collared polo t-shirt with the Confey name printed on it. Again, because they are specific to the school to represent Confey College when playing away matches etc., they must be purchased from Bernard Owens Shop (see above).
It is compulsory for all students to have full uniform and a school tracksuit and t-shirt. Neat dress is essential also. After all, each student is an ambassador for the school when dressed in uniform.
What’s not allowed?
Denim jackets, biker jackets or similar and runners are totally forbidden.
The Parents’ Council have put together some useful tips with regard to the uniform that may be especially helpful to newcomer’s to the school:-
Because the school tie, and the jumpers are specific to Confey you must buy them from Bernard Owens Shop. However, the plain white shirts, plain navy trousers and black shoes can be bought anywhere.
Do NOT wash jumper at on a high temperature or iron it. Heat makes the jumper stretch dramatically.
You can buy Name Tags which can be ironed or stuck on to each item of your child’s uniform just so that they don’t get confused with any other child’s. They are available in B Shop and also at Links to name tags suppliers.
Most parents tend to buy 1 tie, 1 jumper, 1/2 trousers, 2/3 shirts.
What about Non-uniform Day? What’s allowed then?
There is one non-uniform day per term. They are run by the Students’ Council. The money raised is for a charity nominated by the Students’ Council themselves.
On non-uniform day students are allowed to wear their own clothes to school. Rules in relation to hair colour, hats, and jewellery still apply. Fancy dress and attire unsuitable for school are not permitted and may result in the students being requested to change clothes.
