The next event as part of the Confey Parish 30th Anniversary project will be a ‘Walking Tour of the Historical sites and buildings in the Leixlip/Confey area‘.
The walk will take place on Monday 27th April when all Transition Year students and our senior citizens will go on this walk together. We are delighted that a local historian, Seamus Kelly, has kindly agreed to be our tour guide for the morning. Seamus has written a book on the history of Leixlip. He is also a former secondary school teacher and a former parishioner of Confey, so he is the ideal person to be our guide.
The morning promises to be a very interesting and informative event, and will be a great lesson for the students in the local history of the area in which their school is located.
